What To Expect
If you are experiencing symptoms such as chronic anxiety, panic, depression or just feeling out of place, I can help. Using an integrative approach of talk therapy, awareness/mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques, you will gain the confidence and skills you need to manage your emotions and navigate your life, no matter the circumstances. Together we will cultivate curiosity and insight. We will develop and solidify skills and you will see a shift in your life.
I specialize in treating individuals with acute and chronic anxiety/panic, low self-esteem, trauma and depression.
I bring a high level of skill, patience, empathy and a sense of humor. I work at a pace that keeps you engaged, ensures progress and maintains your safety. Good therapy should not only offer knowledge and insight but also provide practical tools that you can apply in your everyday life. I do not believe that therapy needs to be "painful." Rather, therapy is a positive growth experience that can help you achieve tangible and fulfilling results.
My overall perspective is multi-cultural and LGBTQ affirming. Additionally, I am a native Spanish speaker.

About Me
l was born in San Juan , Puerto Rico and lived there until I attended Tufts University in Boston where I studied Community Health and Political Science. Upon graduation, I attended George Washington University in Washington DC and completed a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration (MHA). I pursued that career for 20 years in different capacities: mostly as administrator of a psychiatric hospital and later as a consultant. Once my two children grew older, I pursued a career change. I attended Chapman University, completed the California requirements to be licensed, and became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
I find that being a therapist is a very fulfilling and noble profession. I love what I do, I care deeply about my clients and I love the learning that goes along with being a therapist. Additionally, I am passionate about Domestic Violence and empowering women who have experienced trauma. |
ClientsI work with individuals, couples, families and young adults, seamlessly in English and Spanish.
